Cider Weekend at Gower Heritage Centre
See how cider is traditionally made.
Using a 150 year old mobile cider press we will be pulping the apples from our orchard, pressing and juicing them demonstrating cider making. The mobile press was traditionally used by all the local farms in Gower to make ‘scrumpy’ and farm labourers were often given a barrel of cider as payment for their work instead of their wages. Visitors to the centre can have a go at working the press if they are as strong as farm labourers from the last century, not to mention be a able to enjoy a tipple or two!
Normal entry charges apply. Free entry for season ticket holders.
