Anglesey council calls meeting to discuss options for Welsh Country Foods

Anglesey council has called a meeting to discuss the future of a closure-threatened lamb processing plant.

Up to 350 jobs are at risk at Welsh Country Foods in Gaerwen after its owners announced on 11 January that it had lost its “key customer” Asda.

The closed meeting on Monday will include representatives from the firm’s Dutch parent company Vion.
